Classroom Grants Program
We at the Anderson Education Foundation (AEF) believe that more than ever before in Anderson, we must continue building a stronger legacy for learning that encourages children and adults to confidently pursue a successful future as individuals and as community. Since 1986, the Foundation has directed some $300,000 into our local public school system -- gifts from friends of children. The Anderson Education Foundation and Anderson's children -- Claiming Tomorrow Through Education!
Exercising the mind ...
Stimulating the senses ...
Spurring students to action ...
Each year, the Anderson Education Foundation invites Anderson Community Schools teachers to propose innovative classroom projects they dream of conducting with their students ... if only they had the financial resources to do so. The projects selected for funding may take place entirely in a classroom. Some may take students into local nature sites, such as Mounds State Park. Or, a trip to the Junior Achievement Finance Park in Indianapolis brings the personal finance curriculum to life for students. The scope of projects expands the curriculum and is a varied as the imagination of the educators and students involved.
QuickStart Grants, 2009
Students returned to school for the new school year in August 2009. For students of 11 ACS educators, it was a quick start on the curriculum. Information on those QuickStart Grants will be featured here around Christmas.
